The IMN team (WW9) has won the annual football tournament of FAU’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering for the first time.
The tournament took place on 23 July 2026 in pleasant summer weather and brought together six teams representing WW1, WW2/WTM, WW3, WW5/LSP, WW7/BioMat and WW9/IMN.
After progressing through the tournament, IMN faced the long-standing champions from WW1 in an exciting final. With a strong team performance, WW9 secured the victory and brought the department’s challenge cup to IMN for the first time.
Congratulations to our players and many thanks to all participating teams and organizers for an enjoyable and memorable tournament!
