The annual excursion of students of Q11 biophysics courses at Christian-Ernst-Gymnasium Erlangen (CEG-ER) to the chair for micro and nanostructure research at FAU was not feasible under the given circumstances.

“If the CEG can’t come to us, I’ll come to the CEG” wrote Prof. Dr. Erdmann Spiecker and so on July 22, 2021, the students were still able to gain interesting insights into the functionality of the transmission, scanning and X-ray electron microscopes, and to get to know the new possibilities of aberration-corrected electron microscopy. The vivid lecture was supplemented with insights into current doctoral theses of the chair and information on courses of study at FAU. We hope to be able to host on-site excursion in the near future soon!
